To create happy and productive households by mentoring parents and their sons how to cooperatively live together so that everyone enjoys more trust, teamwork and love.
"If this planet is going to be a place that successfully overcomes its social, political and economic challenges, it will happen because The Men create a safe environment for all people to cooperatively contribute to the well being of all. This can only happen when men know how to channel their biological impulses into productive personal and communal activities. How can we guarantee this happens? By fulfilling our adult male obligations to initiate the young men into a culture that promotes respectful and resourceful behaviors."
Dr. Mark Schillinger, DC
All young men, regardless of their socioeconomic background, share the same concerns about becoming a successful adult. The Young Men's Ultimate Weekend is a non-religious modern rite of passage that allows young men to safely voice their concerns about becoming a man and acquire the leadership skills necessary for a responsible adulthood. Our graduates leave The YMUW more accountable for their lives and better prepared for the challenges of the adult world.
Thousands of years ago and up until recently, young men were taken out of the village by the men to undergo an initiation into manhood that would guide them to become more respectful and resourceful. Parents no longer have the assistance of their community to raise young men who know what the right things are. By combining ancient indigenous wisdom and modern scientific insight regarding adolescent male biology, YMUW picks up where many current approaches to working with young men fall short.
Young men want to be your heroes and take good care of the world. YMUW gives them the safe place they need to rediscover their natural masculine wisdom and express it freely. It's an experience they won't ever forget!
